Why I do This Work

Long before I became a professional, I was the trusted friend everyone relied on to hold their deepest stories. People have always naturally opened up to me because of the warm, non-judgmental space I provide. I know firsthand how painful it is to feel completely misunderstood, and that is exactly why I do this work.

My goal is to use my natural openness to support teens and young adults through their toughest mental health challenges. I truly believe that every single person is inherently deserving of help, healing, and the guidance needed to thrive.

A Focus on Teens & Young Adults

My passion for this work comes from a very personal place. Growing up, my own adolescence was tumultuous, marked by an emotionally chaotic home environment and significant mental health challenges. During those difficult years, it was the therapists I saw as a child, teen, and young adult who threw me a lifeline. They provided the stability I lacked, helped me process my surroundings, and fundamentally shaped the adult I am today.

Having lived through it, I deeply relate to the unique pressures young people face. Adolescence and young adulthood are truly formative chapters that set the trajectory for the rest of your life. I do this work because I know firsthand how critical support is during this window. Your future is incredibly bright, and I am dedicated to helping you navigate the chaos so you can step into adulthood as the healthiest, strongest version of yourself.

My Credentials & Training

My clinical foundation is built on deep academic training and diverse field experience. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from Bard College with a minor in Psychology specializing in child development, followed by a Master of Social Work focused on systems in recovery from mental illness.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California, I spent four years doing intensive frontline work with homeless youth and adults, navigating complex trauma and crisis recovery.

Today, my practice is informed by evidence-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness, alongside specialized training from an ICF-accredited Life Coaching course.

To best serve a diverse, global community, I offer therapy and coaching in multiple languages, speaking English, Italian, Spanish, and French fluently, with immersive experience in Dutch and foundational studies in Mandarin.

Life Today

Beyond my clinical background, my own life is a testament to the power of making intentional, value-driven changes. I packed up my life as an expat, first following love to Amsterdam, and later intentionally relocating our family to Italy.

Together with my partner, our daughter, three dogs, (and other barnyard critters) we chose a more tranquil, grounded way of living that truly aligns with our core values.

I know exactly what it takes to face the unknown, rewrite your story, and choose a path that honors your mental well-being. I made that profound leap to build a life I love and I am here to show you that you can do it too.
